What is your favourite version of the game, and why?

Hi all! I've been wondering what your favourite version(s) of Minecraft to play is. Please let me know!

My personal favourite is 1.1.2_01, as I like the unique aesthetic of it. There are a few issues that I don't like, however, such as the messy stairs, so I usually play it modded

b1.7.3 for me, it's the perfect blend of features, gameplay, and of the focus of building rather than the exploration that the modern game takes. it's basically creative mode with a bit of a gameplay loop to keep me invested. it's also a lot more relaxing than the modern versions. but also, i haven't gone back to the alpha versions of the game, so i can't say that b1.7.3 is the definitive version for me.

• b1.7.3 because its the best minecraft version

• r1.6.4 because its before they removed large oceans and because of the nostalgia factor

my favorite versions are alpha 1.1.2 and in20100223

I mostly play with mods like legacy plus and hybrid survival

probably r1.0, i like making potions. b1.7 in second.

I have 3 favorite versions that I can't really choose between.

The first is b1.7.3 because it just has a feeling no version of Minecraft released after has.
The second is r1.6.4 as that was the last version that still felt like old Minecraft in my opinion. 1.7 just feels a lot more "modern", I guess.

But, if i'm playing modded (as I usually do) my favorite version would have to be 1.7.10. The mod selection on that version can't really be matched on any future version (even 1.12.2). The 1.7 modding scene is also still super active with stuff like Angelica and Et Futurum Requiem.

a1.1.2_01, because I saw Mongster play it, and tried it, and I really like it! I really like this version because of the terrain, the grass, the snow worlds and the colors (and many more). In fact, I think this version is the perfect version of minecraft.
I also like a1.0.7 and 1.0.11, they're just like a1.1.2_01, but more nostalgic.
Also, 1.0.16_02 and 1.0.17_xx are very iconic.
And 1.0.16.05, it has a lot of cool features. I think the best is either _12, _07 or _13.

1.1.2._01 is my favorite. I started in early beta back in 2011. I used to watch the lets plays that had this version in it. I would try to do what they would and sometimes the designs wouldnt work. I love the simpleness.

Beta 1.7.3 is my favorite version of Minecraft because it's the last version of Minecraft before it became an RPG. The old food system is better in my opinion because food isn't nearly as much of a chore that way, and I think the XP system as a whole is arbitrary and bad.
