Hey all,
The last time I posted to this thread was about the big Steve statue I built in my a1.2.6 world. My most recent project has been this massive castle wall. Now that it's finished I just have to light the inside up and figure out what the hell to put in it. I am already planning on some kind of keep in the middle of the grounds and a kind of entrance area with a fountain; aside from that, I'm up for suggestions if anyone has any. I'll be sure to post updates with how it's going.
It's a pretty hilly area so I think I'll have to do some terraforming, too. Here are some pictures but the nighttime and poor lighting make it kind of see the scale of it.

Re: [a1.2.6] Big Ol' Castle
It has been a few days so I thought I would post an update on this build. I'm not sure how visible it was in the first screenshots, but there is a walkway that leads more or less directly in front of the castle gate. It is possible to travel to the castle by land, but only by a very narrow stretch of grass.
I have started a kind of "entrance area" with a small fountain built from stone slabs. It would be nice to add some better lighting at some point, maybe with glowstone.
Right next to this fountain is a well. I haven't finished digging the pit yet. Inside the chest is a bucket for collecting water. You can also see the walkways which run along the castle walls in this picture.
The biggest part of this build (aside from the castle walls/towers) is the "keep". I can't attach a close-up here for some reason, but you can see it in the background of the picture of the fountain. It's going to take a long time to put together!*record scratch*

Very nice natural development of the keep, though that texture pack certainly is something...

It's a custom pack I started making a few months ago, I always meant to go back and touch up some of the textures but I haven't got around to it yet. To be honest, I forget I have it on at all lolMongster wrote: Tue Jul 29, 2025 5:17 pm Very nice natural development of the keep, though that texture pack certainly is something...

True masterpiece! Great job! I really love the texture pack, and how simple it is. I'm currently working on something similar on my b1.7.3 world.
