Formality on a Forum

Is it just me, or is it common to speak more formally on a Forum? While using this site I find myself using more proper punctuation and capitalisation - which is something I don't usually do when typing. Does anyone else here do the same?

fr. i think its cuz its not like "oh a chatroom" but "im writing a message with all this tools and i can preview it before sending it, formal af"
